Patient Support Services
Cancer can involve significant psychological, social and economic challenges for patients. How and if these challenges are addressed, is an important aspect of a patient’s care plan. For this reason, the Cancer Center employs Patient Care Coordinators- clinical social workers, who provide emotional and practical support for patients, their families and friends.
Support and encouragement are offered through a wide variety of services. Counseling services are available for individual, families and in group settings. Books, audiotapes and videotapes on managing the cancer experience are also available. Practical needs, such as transportation to treatments, financial assistance or homecare can be arranged by Patient Care Coordinators. Please contact the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara at
(805) 682-7300 or toll free at (877) 755-7300 for more information about these services and groups. Bilingual staff is available.
