At the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara with Sansum Clinic, we uphold our tradition of excellence by meeting the needs and expectations of patients and families who are living with a cancer diagnosis. Patients at the Cancer Center can feel confident that they receive the highest level of clinical care from our physicians, nurses, staff, a full range of oncology support programs, and access to the most innovative cancer treatments available.
The Cancer Center provides medical care in three departments: Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology & Hematology and Nuclear Medicine. We are the sole provider of Radiation Therapy in Santa Barbara, and our medical oncology team includes 9 physicians trained at world-renowned institutions.
Our medical departments are complemented by robust clinical support services including Patient Navigation, Genetic Counseling, Oncology Nutrition Services and an advanced Clinical Research program which provides patients with access to a wide variety of clinical trials.
Our Oncology Supportive Care Programs take an integrative approach to cancer care by focusing on the whole person – body, mind, and spirit. Patients can integrate complementary therapies such as yoga, nutrition, and healing touch with traditional cancer care to reduce stress, improve treatment tolerance or enhance recovery. A wide range of exercise, stress management, creative arts, information and support resources are available to patients and their families. Click here to learn more.
In addition to providing medical care, we are committed to helping people with the emotional and practical aspects of a cancer diagnosis. Our Oncology Social Work Services Program offers a wide range of logistical assistance and resources for patients, family members and friends. Transportation to treatments, financial assistance and help with legal and insurance challenges are but a few of the available services.
Maintaining our long-standing commitment to education is made possible by our Cancer Resource Library, a comfortable place to review print and electronic cancer resources available free-of-charge to patients, families, community members and healthcare professionals.
