The library is open from 9:00 to 3:00, Monday through Thursday.
Where is the library located?
The library is right next to the main waiting room at 540 West Pueblo Street.
Where can I park?
There is free parking in the lot adjacent to our building. The lot can be accessed from both Pueblo Street and Junipero Street.
Who can use the library?
The library is open to everyone. You do not need to be a patient of the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara to use the library.
What can I find at the Cancer Resource Library?
We have a comprehensive collection of books, brochures, and audiovisuals with information about all aspects of cancer, including: specific disease information, treatment information, coping & caregiving resources, nutrition, and complementary therapies. We subscribe to a collection of professional journals and have two computers available for public use. Our library staff will be happy to help you with your information needs.
How do I borrow materials from the library?
There is no charge for borrowing privileges, but we will ask you to fill out a short registration form. After this is complete, you may borrow up to three items at a time; the lending period is three weeks.
What if I need information but can't get to the library?
We understand that it may not be convenient for everyone to visit the library in person, but we don't want that to limit your access to helpful information. Please call our librarian, Sam Howland, at (805) 563-5887 or email library@ccsb.org. We can send library items to you at home and can also provide a pre-paid return mailer packet.
What if I need more detailed information than can be found in the library's books?
Our librarian is happy to perform an in-depth information search tailored to your needs. Most requests can be completed by the next business day.
