The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara, in partnership with the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara, is pleased to host several events during the year in the efforts to encourage community fundraising and provide cancer patients in our community with events to celebrate life.
The Barbara Ireland Walk and Run for Breast Cancer is typically held in the Spring and features 5K, 10K, and 15K walk and run course options which begin and end at Chase Palm Park, in beautiful Santa Barbara. 100% of the proceeds benefit breast cancer research, genetic counseling and nurse navigation programs at the Cancer Center. For six years in a row, the Rancheros are partnering with Wrangler Jeans and the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Foundation to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer patients at the Cancer Center of Santa Barbara with Sansum Clinic. Save the Date for this inspirational affair featuring 750 Rancheros Visitadores on horseback as they parade in pink through downtown Solvang to Old Mission Santa Ines. Learn More >
National Cancer Survivorship Day is celebrated the first weekend in June. All cancer patients and survivors in the tri-county area are invited to attend our annual celebration of life Viva la Vida. Viva la Vida is open to all cancer patients, survivors, their family and friends as a way to celebrate life with food, fun, games, crafts, live music and more. Learn More >
In October, participants take to the streets of Montecito for the 5K and 10K Cancer Center Walk/Run All funds generated by this event support the Cancer Center’s Clinical Research Program. This event is a family friendly affair with a 1-mile Kids' Fun Run and a post-race brunch buffet and raffle. Learn More >
