Lymphedema Screening & Education Clinic

The Cancer Center of Santa Barbara has created the free Lymphedema Education and Screening Clinic to be a resource for patients, physicians and medical professionals in the community. Below is more information, and you may also click here to download a brochure for this program.

The goal of the Lymphedema Education and Screening Clinic is to reduce the risk and the severity of lymphedema to cancer patients by providing education and early screening.

Lymphedema Education & Risk-Reduction Lecture
This lecture covers the following:
*Lymphatic system & lymphedema
*Risk reduction guidelines
*Skin care, travel precautions and other related issues.
*Nutrition class (offered quarterly)

Screening Services
Components of the screening process will include:
*Individual assessment
*Measurement
*Risk reduction plan
*Treatment referral (if needed)
*Follow-up assessments

The Screening Clinic is open the fourth Friday of each month, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Cancer Center located at 300 W. Pueblo Street, Santa Barbara.  To make a screening appointment, please call Sherry Massey at (805) 682-7300.

The Lymphedema Risk Reduction Lecture is offered the fourth Friday of the month from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Sansum Clinic located at 317 W. Pueblo Street, Santa Barbara.  Please call (866) 829-0909 to reserve a seat or go to www.SansumClinic.org/Classes.
