Treatment

There is no “one-size-fits-all” approach to treating cancer. Even among patients with the same type of cancer, each person’s situation is unique. Several factors can influence the recommended treatment of your cancer, including the specific characteristics of your cancer, your overall state of health, and whether the goal of treatment is to cure your cancer, to keep it from spreading, or to relieve symptoms caused by cancer. Possible therapies include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, or biological therapy. The Cancer Center offers all of these treatments except surgery. In addition, certain complementary therapies may be included to help manage side effects such as stress or fatigue. One or more treatment modalities may be used to provide you with the most effective treatment.
